A new lump, unexplained bleeding or weight loss, persistent pain, breathlessness, or fever during chemotherapy needs your oncologist or emergency care first.
All questions
The basics
Does Ayurveda cure cancer?
No. Ayurvedic supportive care focuses on comfort, appetite, sleep, digestion and strength while your oncology team treats the cancer.
Do I need to stop or delay chemotherapy or radiation?
No. Please continue the treatment your oncologist has planned. Supportive care works alongside it, never in place of it.
Do you replace my oncologist?
No. You continue under your oncologist. Our care is coordinated with, and subject to, your treating oncology team.
Are you a hospital?
No. CANCER AYU CARE is a specialty service of AMRUT AYU CARE™, an Ayurvedic clinic in Pune. We work alongside your hospital and oncology team.
Is supportive care only for people in active treatment?
No. It is also for people who have finished treatment, and for families in comfort care.

Ayurvedic Medicine and safety
Will you give Ayurvedic Medicine alongside my chemotherapy?
Only after your oncologist and our doctor review it together. Many people start with diet and routine support alone.
Is it safe to take a kadha or an immunity supplement during chemotherapy?
Not without a joint review. Please ask your oncologist and our doctor before taking anything new.
Should I tell my oncologist that I see an Ayurvedic doctor?
Yes, always. Share everything you take, including diet changes and home remedies.
What if my oncologist says no to an Ayurvedic Medicine?
Then we do not use it. We focus on diet, daily routine and comfort measures instead.
I feel better. Is it fine to skip a chemotherapy cycle?
No. Never change your treatment plan without your oncologist. Feeling better is a good sign, and the plan still matters.

Food and daily routine
Should we follow a special “cancer diet”?
No special diet replaces treatment. The goal is to eat enough, safely, with foods the person enjoys.
Should we stop sugar, milk or any other food?
Please do not cut out whole food groups without asking your oncology team. Our doctor adjusts foods to how the person feels.
Is yoga safe during chemotherapy?
Gentle, slow yoga suits many people once their treating team has cleared it. Avoid hot or intense classes during treatment.
How much should I rest?
Rest before you feel exhausted, not after. Short rests through the day help more than one long one.

After treatment
When does Rasayana start?
Only once your oncologist agrees that active treatment is complete. If you take long-term medicines, we review every suggestion with your oncologist first.
Will Ayurveda stop the cancer returning?
We make no such promise. Our support aims at energy, sleep, digestion and calm. Your oncology follow-ups remain the way to watch for any change.
Is it fine to stop my hormone tablets if I feel well?
No. Please take every long-term medicine exactly as your oncologist prescribed. Tell your oncologist about side effects; we support comfort alongside.

Comfort care
Does Ayurveda replace palliative care?

Should we reduce pain medicines if the person feels calmer?
No. Never change pain relief without the palliative team. Comfort support works alongside it.
