Supportive care

Strength in recovery (Rasayana)

Rasayana means rejuvenation care. After treatment ends, many people feel weak, tired and not quite themselves. Rasayana care focuses on rebuilding strength, appetite and Ojas (vital strength), step by step.

Call your oncologist first

A new lump, unexplained bleeding or weight loss, persistent pain, breathlessness, or fever during chemotherapy needs your oncologist or emergency care first.

When to call your oncologist first

Working with your oncologist

You continue under your oncologist. Our Ayurvedic care is coordinated with, and subject to, your treating oncology team.

Never start any Ayurvedic Medicine during chemotherapy or radiation without your oncologist and our doctor reviewing it together.

When Rasayana begins

Rasayana begins only after your oncologist agrees that active treatment is complete.

Some people continue long-term medicines after treatment, such as hormone therapy or targeted therapy. In that case, every suggestion is reviewed with your oncologist first.

Step by step

What Rasayana care includes

Food that builds strength

Pathya (suitable diet) planned for appetite, weight and digestion as you recover.

Sleep and daily rhythm

A steady Dinacharya (daily routine) that supports rest and energy.

A gentle return to activity

Walking and light exercise, increased slowly and cleared by your treating team.

Ayurvedic Medicine, only after review

Chosen for the person, reviewed with your oncologist, and checked at every follow-up.

What to expect

  1. A detailed assessment. Energy, appetite, sleep, weight, digestion, and every medicine you take.
  2. A written plan. Food, routine and activity first. Ayurvedic Medicine only after a joint review.
  3. Regular reviews. We check how you feel and adjust the plan over the following weeks.
  4. Honest expectations. Recovery after treatment is gradual. The doctor sets realistic goals with you at the start.

What Rasayana is not

Rasayana is not a treatment for the disease. It does not replace your follow-up visits and scans with your oncologist. We make no promises about the cancer returning. Our aim is to help you feel stronger, day to day.

Keep your oncology follow-ups

  • Keep every follow-up visit and scan your oncology team has planned.
  • Report any new or returning symptom to your oncologist first.
  • Bring your latest reports to your Rasayana reviews, so our plan stays in step with your oncology care.

Common questions

Does Ayurveda cure cancer?

No. Ayurvedic supportive care focuses on comfort, appetite, sleep, digestion and strength while your oncology team treats the cancer.

When does Rasayana start?

Only once your oncologist agrees that active treatment is complete. If you take long-term medicines, we review every suggestion with your oncologist first.

Will Rasayana stop the cancer coming back?

We make no such promise. Rasayana aims at strength, appetite and energy. Your oncology follow-ups remain the way to watch for any change.

How long does Rasayana care last?

Usually several weeks to a few months, with regular reviews. The doctor sets realistic expectations with you at the start.
